Lupinus latifolius var. viridifolius (Broadleaf Lupine), sometimes also called Bearded Lupine, occurs in northeastern California and southeastern Oregon. It is a a member of the bean family. This plant enjoys mesic conditions (areas with moderate, balanced moisture), and lives in wet, shady to open, sunny clay banks along streams and on the margins of meadows, within higher elevation conifer woodlands. It occurs between about 3,300 feet to 8,200 feet above sea level, and flowers in spring or summer.
